Headless Commerce
Decoupling the storefront from the commerce backend.
Headless commerce separates the customer-facing storefront (the "head") from the commerce engine that handles products, carts, and orders, connecting them through an API. It buys flexibility and performance — a fully custom front end — at the cost of added complexity. For most brands a well-built standard Shopify theme is faster to ship and cheaper to run; headless earns its keep for large or unusually bespoke storefronts. We advise honestly on when it is worth it.
