Catalogue size and complexity
Forty products with two variants each is a very different job from four hundred with shade, size, and bundle variants. Product setup and the filtering taxonomy scale with the catalogue, not with the page count.
Pricing / Build cost
Straight answer: a custom Shopify store from us starts at $2,500 and most fall between $8,000 and $20,000. Here is what sits behind those numbers, and what makes a project land at one end or the other.
STRAIGHT ANSWER
Almost every agency answers this question with "it depends" and a contact form. It does depend — but the ranges are knowable, and you deserve to see them before you spend an hour on a call. Below are the ranges we actually quote, the factors that move a project within them, and the running costs nobody mentions until after you have signed. If you want a number for your specific scope, the Project Cost Estimator at the bottom of this page starts from these same figures and adjusts for design level, features, and timeline.
These are the numbers we quote, not illustrative examples. They are the starting ranges by scope — the estimator further down this page takes the same figures and adjusts them for design level, features, and timeline.
| Scope | Cost | Timeline | What that covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Landing page or single-page store | $2,500 – $6,000 | 2 – 4 weeks | One focused page, designed and built. Right for validating a product or a campaign before committing to a full catalogue. |
| Business or brochure site | $4,000 – $9,000 | 4 – 8 weeks | A multi-page site with a design system, CMS, and forms. Not a store — the right answer when you sell offline and need credibility online. |
| Custom Shopify store | $8,000 – $20,000 | 6 – 12 weeks | Full UI/UX in Figma, a premium theme heavily customised, product setup, apps, payments, shipping, and SEO foundations. This is the typical brand build. |
| Web application | $15,000 – $40,000 | 10 – 20 weeks | Custom functionality beyond a storefront — portals, dashboards, bespoke workflows, integrations with systems you already run. |
| Mobile app | $20,000 – $50,000 | 12 – 24 weeks | A native or cross-platform app with its own design system, backend, and store submissions. |
On the floor: Below $2,500 we say no. Not because small projects do not matter, but because a build under that number cannot include the discovery, design, and QA that make it worth having — and we would rather point you at a good theme than sell you a bad project.
Where a project lands inside those ranges is decided by a handful of things. These are them, in roughly the order they matter.
Forty products with two variants each is a very different job from four hundred with shade, size, and bundle variants. Product setup and the filtering taxonomy scale with the catalogue, not with the page count.
A lightly-customised premium theme sits at the bottom of the range. A full Figma design system with bespoke product and collection templates sits at the top. This is usually the single biggest lever.
A proper EN/AR store is not a translation layer — it is a mirrored interface, Arabic typography, translated product data, and translated transactional emails. It adds real weeks. See the Arabic RTL guide.
Payments, shipping, ERP, POS, or an inventory system each add scope. A store that talks to nothing costs less than one that has to stay in sync with a warehouse.
Moving customers, orders, reviews, and blog content off another platform — plus a full 301 redirect map — is quoted separately because it scales with data volume. See our migration costs page.
If photography, copy, and product data are ready, the build runs to schedule. If they are not, that is the delay — and on time-and-materials work, the cost.
The part most pricing pages leave out
The part most pricing pages leave out: the build is a one-off cost, and the store is not. Budget for Shopify's monthly plan, your app subscriptions, payment processing fees, and someone's time to actually run it. A $12,000 store with no one merchandising it will underperform a $6,000 store that someone tends weekly. If your total budget is the build and nothing else, build smaller and keep the difference.

The questions we get asked on every pricing call.
Because "Shopify store" covers everything from a stock theme with your logo on it to a fully bespoke bilingual storefront with custom templates and integrations. The platform is the same; the work is not. Ask any quote to specify design scope, catalogue size, and integrations and the variance usually explains itself.
Honestly: buy a good premium theme, set it up yourself, and start selling. If you are validating a product, that is the correct answer and we will tell you so. Agency work earns its cost once the store is infrastructure — when slow pages and lost carts cost real money. You can start a Shopify free trial to see the platform first.
Fixed price against a defined scope, in three payments — 50% to start discovery and design, 25% at design sign-off, 25% on delivery. Scope changes are quoted before they are built, not billed after.
Shopify's plan, your apps, and payment processing. Plan and app pricing changes often enough that quoting figures here would mislead you — check Shopify's current pricing directly, and count your app subscriptions honestly. Our maintenance cost page covers the ongoing development side.
Yes — the Project Cost Estimator on this page uses the same ranges, or tell us the scope on the start a project form and we will quote it properly.
